How fees are set

Waste management fee for batteries (FZOEU) — Statutory waste management fee paid to the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund under Uredba NN 137/2024, Annex V.

Croatia funds battery collection through the single state fund FZOEU. The waste management fee sits in Annex V of the same ordinance whose Annex VI carries the Croatian packaging rates. It is charged on portable batteries and accumulators and computed as the unit fee times the mass, times an eco-modulation coefficient and a register-reporting coefficient; until the decision foreseen in Article 3(5) is taken, Article 10 fixes both coefficients at 1, so the effective rate is the unit fee itself. Batteries placed on the market inside a vehicle or inside electrical equipment are charged under the vehicle or equipment annexes instead, not here. The fund's own website is unreachable under this repository's access rules, so the official gazette carries the figures — the more authoritative source in any case.

ᴮ bonus / discount · ᴹ malus / surcharge. Croatia sets a single statutory fee covering all portable batteries, with no chemistry or weight axis at all — the coarsest tariff in this channel.
